About Snowshoe Mountain
Snowshoe is a popular destination in the Mid-Atlantic for skiers, and snowboarders. It is located in West Virginia with an elevation of 4,848 feet. The average snowfall a year at Snowshoe is 180 inches but they also have 100% snow making capabilities. There are a total of 61 trails contained within 3 ski areas. The 3 ski areas are The Basin, The Western Territory, and Silver Creek. The Basin has the most trails out of the 3 areas, featuring 38 named ski trails. The Western Territory is an expert only area, with 2 trails. One of these trails is the longest on the mountain, with a length of 1.5 miles. Silver Creek has 18 trails, and is popular for the night skiing offered there. It is also popular because of the Coca-Cola tubing park. There are free shuttles that will take you from one area to the next. Other than their amazing skiing offers, Snowshoe offers Polaris RZR and Snowmobile tours. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants in Snowshoe Village, and scattered around the mountain. And if you are looking to relax and be pampered, the Spa at Snowshoe is a good bet.
More Than a Ski Resort
In the summertime, Snowshoe hosts many festivals and events, such as Blues, Brews and BBQ’s, Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-off, The Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) off-road ATV and motorcycle racing series, Free Fall Festival and more. If you like outdoor activities, Snowshoe has rugged Segway tours, hiking, downhill mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing at Shavers Lake and golf at the Raven Golf Course. There is a historic steam railroad called Cass Railroad just 10 miles away. For a longer day trip, Seneca Rocks is also nearby. There is amazing rock climbing and cliff views there. Searching for Somewhere to Stay
Our condos are located in Mountain Lodge at Snowshoe WV. The complex is ski in, ski out, and is right next to the Snowshoe Village. It’s about 30 yards from the Ballhooter chair lift, the beginner slopes and the ski school area. The building has a private parking lot, and is walking distance from the shuttle which takes you to the Silver Creek and Western Territory ski area. On the ground floor there is a huge open lobby with a cozy fireplace. Mountain Lodge’s common areas and condos all have free Wi-Fi Internet access. There is an Italian restaurant, lounge, and Conference Center in the lower level of the building. If you’re planning to visit Snowshoe, we have condos that you can rent in Mountain Lodge.
